Not Most People
Most people work to live.
But what if your work is how you live out your purpose?
There’s something most people will never quite understand about you…
Even when the evidence is all around.
Even when you’ve tried to explain it.
Even when it shapes every part of your life.
You were designed for this.
They don’t see it.
They may never understand it.
And that’s okay.
Because business is in your bones, and you love it.
Maybe you love the business itself – its people, its mission, its rhythm.
Or maybe you love how business works – how it makes sense, how it creates value, how it can shape the world.
Often, it’s a mix of the two. Either way, this is your lane.
Despite the setbacks, the late nights, the leadership burdens, the sweat and the strain…
You would do even more if you could.
And that’s not something most people can wrap their heads around.
For many, work is a J.O.B. – something to do so they can live life outside of it.
But for you?
The work God has given you fuels you.
It draws you in.
It’s part of how he is shaping you.
It’s part of your spiritual formation.
Let me be clear: I’m not justifying workaholism.
I’m affirming that God may have placed something unique inside you that others simply aren’t wired to see.
So today...
May God grant you the wisdom and discernment you need to steward the joy of your work with purpose and grace.
And may you flourish in the space you were created for – to his glory.
Blessings to you, my friends.

This Week’s Resource Recommendation:
“Business for the Glory of God: The Bible's Teaching on the Moral Goodness of Business”
- Wayne Grudem
Can business activity in itself be morally good and pleasing to God? Sometimes business can seem so shady – manipulating the “bottom line,” deceiving the consumer, or gaining promotions because of whom you know.
But Wayne Grudem introduces a novel concept: business itself glorifies God when it is conducted in a way that imitates God’s character and creation. He shows that all aspects of business, including ownership, profit, money, competition, and borrowing and lending, glorify God because they are reflective of God’s nature. Though Grudem isn’t naïve about the easy ways these activities can be perverted and used as a means to sin, he knows that Christians can be about the business of business.
This biblically based book is a thoughtful guide to imitating God during interactions with customers, coworkers, employees, and other businesses. See how your business―and your life in business―can be dedicated to God’s glory.
