Find Your Place

It is one thing to find a team that appreciates you. It is another to find a tribe that transforms you.

True belonging is not comfort. It’s calling. And when you find it, everything changes.

Business leaders who seek to honor God Monday through Sunday, I implore you. See to find a place:

  • Not only where you are valued

  • Not just a place that brings you life

  • Not merely a place that strokes your ego or makes you feel better

Seek a place that draws you toward your full, redemptive potential.

A place where extreme alignment is possible.

Where the values, the mission, and the founding purpose make your heart sing and put your soul at peace, even when you know you have not “arrived” yet.

A place that challenges your thinking, inspires you to improve, and promotes your success in the marketplace, the home, your relationships, and your life.

When you have found your place – a beautiful, albeit rare discovery – do whatever you must to invest fully and remain rooted in that vine.

I am overwhelmed by the gift of having found just such a place. The home and heart of my tribe. And I would love to someday share the story of how it all came to be.

It was something I didn’t know I was missing.
A place that, prior to 2019, I didn‘t even know existed.
And now, I cannot imagine life without it.

And the proverbial icing on the cake?

Our tribe exists to create just such a place for others – specifically designed to serve the needs of God-honoring business owners and leaders.

A space where peers who desire to steward their business, their life, and their faith well gather in growth-minded, grounded, ambitious, adventurous, grace-filled community.

Find your place. Invest deeply. And let gratitude fill your heart as you reap the rewards.

If I can be of help, please let me know.

Blessings to you, my friends!

This Week’s Resource Recommendation:
"The Power of the Other: The startling effect other people have on you, from the boardroom to the bedroom and beyond-and what to do about it"
- Dr. Henry Cloud

From Amazon: An expert on the psychology of leadership and the bestselling author of Integrity, Necessary Endings, and Boundaries For Leaders identifies the critical ingredient for personal and professional wellbeing.

Most leadership coaching focuses on helping leaders build their skills and knowledge and close performance gaps. These are necessary, but not sufficient. Using evidence from neuroscience and his work with leaders, Dr. Henry Cloud shows that the best performers draw on another vital resource: personal and professional relationships that fuel growth and help them surpass current limits.

Popular wisdom suggests that we should not allow others to have power over us, but the reality is that they do, for better or for worse. Consider the boss who diminishes you through cutting remarks versus one who challenges you to get better. Or the colleague who always seeks the limelight versus the one who gives you the confidence to finish a difficult project. Or the spouse who is honest and supportive versus the one who resents your success. No matter how talented, intelligent, or experienced, the greatest leaders share one commonality: the power of the others in their lives.

Combining engaging case studies, persuasive findings from cutting-edge brain research, and examples from his consulting practice, Dr. Cloud argues that whether you’re a Navy SEAL or a corporate executive, outstanding performance depends on having the right kind of connections to fuel personal growth and minimize toxic associations and their effects. Presenting a dynamic model of the impact these different kinds of connections produce, Dr. Cloud shows readers how to get more from themselves by drawing on the strength and expertise of others. You don’t have a choice whether or not others have power in your life, but you can choose what kinds of relationships you want.
